Investee Company refers to a single business or group of businesses in which a fund such as a venture capital firm or private equity firm has directly invested in. The term investee is a term most often used in the venture capital world. Typically, venture capital and private equity firms invest in investee companies for a fixed period, about 5 to 7 years after which they exit. Before investing, the venture capital and private equity firms appoint qualified business valuators to value the investee companies. The exit price is normally established before the investment is made.
