The Greenfield Method is one of the business valuation methods available to business valuation analysts. It is applied mostly for the valuation of an intangible asset such as a radio or television license. The Greenfield Method, which is one of the methods under the income approach, draws from discounted cash flows of a notional start-up business with no assets but owns the specific intangible asset being valued. Under the method business valuators estimate cash flow indicators from comparator firms from which the fair market value of the intangible asset (radio, television or other license) under consideration is deduced.
